City of Miami Offers Free Shuttle and
Pedicab Service to Link Art Districts
(Miami, Florida) – The City of Miami, with the support of Miami-Dade County Transit Authority, will provide a park-and-ride shuttle service in the City’s Art Districts. This shuttle will connect galleries and art fairs throughout the Wynwood, Design District and Downtown areas during Art Basel Week. The park n’ ride shuttle will run Thursday, December 7th; it is during this time that the Art Districts are expecting the majority of their audience.
In addition to the park n’ ride shuttle, there will be a new transportation
service available to get from venue to venue: PediCabs! This first time
operation will be in place starting Wednesday, December 6 until Sunday,
December 10th. This free PediCab service will help visitors to navigate
to the different destinations, without the headache of traffic or finding
a place to park at each venue. Sponsored by WynwoodRealty.com, the PediCab
service [provided by Ocean View Rickshaw] is
a collaboration between ICAS (Independent Cultural Access Society) and
the City of Miami, Mayor’s Office of Film & Cultural Affairs.
A map listing the major art galleries, collections, restaurants will be distributed throughout the Downtown, Wynwood and Design District. The map was designed by students from the Miami International University of Art & Design with the guidance of Urbana Magazine and sponsored by Majestic Properties. Visitors will be able to access information on all the major events at the information booth located next to the Rubell Family Collection, 95 NW 29th St.
